Oh how things so quickly change. The last year has gone by so very fast and from being at the point where I thought work on the album would kick off I ended up working for about 9 months, 7 days a week. This was to help fund the album but to do this
and to fund a sustainable career in music I sold my apartment in April and can now
afford to pursue those things that I want to. A privileged place to be.
In January I started teaching music 2 days a week in a school for autistic children which has been wonderful. School starts back up next week.
After plans to finally start working on the album full time over this summer I was
offered the opportunity to work on a theatre project with Brokentalkers and Dublin
Youth Theatre. This ended up being a whole lot more work than I expected but despite
pushing out all other work for about 6 weeks it was a great decision as the finished
play "This is Still Life" is one of the things I am most proud of being involved
in to date. The play, cast and crew were fantastic and as my first delve into the
world of theatre I learnt that its definitely something I would like to do again.
So thats me right now. Its really nice to be able to finally call myself a full
time musicial / composer / etc ... and next week I can finally get stuck right into
getting this album thing done.
